VIDEO: Jim Acosta Just Got Absolutely SCHOOLED On How The Statue Of Liberty Has NOTHING To Do With Immigration…
Jim Acosta is one of those people that when you hear him speak you often wonder whether or not he is even aware of the words that are coming out of his mouth.
Immigration has been the main topic in the mainstream media lately and President Trump’s senior advisor Stephen Miller has taken charge.
It’s too bad President Trump can’t clone Stephen Miller and his genius brain.
This man has been with Donald Trump since his earlier moments in the 2016 campaign. He is very well versed on immigration and American history and can win a debate like no other.
Stephen Miller is truly brilliant and knows immigration better than anyone.
It’s too bad we can’t say the same about the WH Press Corp. Recently, Stephen Miller got the best of Jim Acosta when he gave him a little history lesson on how the Statue of Liberty has nothing to do with immigration. What a Patriot!
Reported by 100percentfedup: FYI: The Statue of Liberty had nothing, absolutely nothing, to do with immigration. The Emma Lazarus poem that Acosta refers to was affixed to the pedestal as an ex post facto inscription in 1903.
Unfortunately, Acosta has fallen prey to the belief that many Americans hold, which is that Lady Liberty has something to do with immigration; that is just not at all the case.
The Statue of Liberty represents Libertas, Roman goddess of Liberty. The words on it were to commemorate July 4th, 1776.
The famous poem that DOES refer to immigration was a part of a poem called The New Colossus, and it included the lines, “Give me your tired, give me your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.” The poem was not part of the creation of the Statue of Liberty and was not delivered with the Statue of Liberty.
It was written by Emma Lazarus as a part of a contest to help raise money for the statue’s pedestal. A bronze tablet bearing the Emma Lazarus poem was only put inside the pedestal in 1903.
